Meet the Athletes Taking Home Gold at the Senior Olympics
The competitors are all senior citizens.
Pole vaulting is a tough sport at any age, but Flo Meiler is setting world records at 85.
Inside Edition was at the 2019 Senior Games in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Meiler warmed up with a few practice runs and then cleared the bar at 5 foot, 1 inch, setting a new record for her age group.
"It's pressure," she admitted.
Meiler was just one of 15,000 athletes competing in the games.
Grandpa Gerald Meyer is a triple medal winner at 100 year old. His goal?
"Finishing," he said.
And indeed he did. He was last but won the gold medal since there was no one running in his age group.
