Meghan Markle Cuts Back on Tour Schedule to Rest: 'Being Pregnant Takes Its Toll'

The Duchess of Sussex has been in Australia as part of a 16-day official visit to the region.

Meghan Markle has reportedly chosen to cut back on her current royal tour schedule with Prince Harry in order to give her some time to rest.

Having announced her pregnancy Oct. 15, Meghan likened her pregnancy symptoms to those of jet leg just days into a 16-day tour she and Harry are set to make through Australia, Tonga, Fiji and New Zealand.

Then, on Saturday, People reported the duchess has decided to ease up a little.

Instead of appearing alongside Harry in Sydney to present medals in the cycling event of his Invictus Games, sources said Meghan chose to sit it out and pare down her role in the upcoming days' schedule.

Appearing alone, Harry was asked about his wife's conspicuous absence.

"She's resting at home," he said, per Australia's ABC News. "Being pregnant takes its toll."

Meghan seemed to have gotten the rest she needed, however, when she reappeared at Harry's side for a garden luncheon with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
