Meghan Markle Presents Flower to 7-Year-Old Girl With Spina Bifida
Seven-year-old Matilda Booth was touched by the gesture, her mother said.
Meghan Markle was presented with a beautiful bouquet while meeting a young girl with spina bifida at the WellChild Awards Tuesday.
Seven-year-old Matilda Booth, who won the Inspirational Child award, gifted the Duchess of Sussex the white flowers. Meghan then pulled one of the roses out and returned it to Matilda for her to keep.
The sweet moment touched Matilda's mother, Sharon Booth, who praised Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, for their compassion.
"He made her 'pinky promise' to always keep that beautiful smile," Booth told People magazine of Harry.
As for Meghan, "she just seems so gentle and sincere," Booth added.
