NFL Player Marquise Goodwin Surprises Mom and Sister With Brand New House

He shared the emotional video to Instagram.

NFL player Marquise Goodwin surprised family members with a new home in an emotional video posted to Instagram.

In the video shared Thursday by the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver, he can be seen taking off blindfolds worn by his mother and sister blindfolds in front of the house.

His mother, Tamina, was immediately reduced to tears as she stood on the red carpet Goodwin had laid out for them in front of the residence.

“I know mama... I can feel your energy in this video!” Goodwin wrote in the description of the post. “All the obstacles WE have overcome... Man...I love you so much mama... thank you for EVERYTHING! Especially blessing me with a sis like my Deja!!!”

The 26-year-old had an emotional year after his wife suffered a miscarriage due to pregnancy complications hours before the 49ers were supposed to play the New York Giants on Nov. 12. Goodwin’s wife, Morgan, gave him her blessing to play in the game anyway and he scored a touchdown to help the team win.

The following month, Goodwin’s father died.

Goodwin’s sister, Deja, has cerebral palsy and was not expected to live past 6 months old. In the past, Goodwin has spoken about how he draws inspiration from her in his football career.

"It's very inspirational to me," Goodwin said in a previous interview. "To me, no doctor can determine when it's your time to go. God really knows, and He's the only one who can really give you the day. You just have to keep the faith and live the best you can each day."
