Jerzy Targalski had to brush the cat's tail away from his eyes more than once.

The phrase "cat got your tongue" doesn’t seem to apply to this academic, who continued a televised interview unbothered despite a cat hopping on his head.

Polish historian and political scientist Jerzy Targalski was discussing Poland’s Supreme Court crisis with Nieuwsuur, a Dutch current affairs television program, when his cat made a surprise cameo and jumped on Targalski’s head.

Targalski pushed forward, continuing to discuss the implications of the membership purge on rule of law, completely uninterrupted except to brush the cat’s tail from away from his face.

While the clip didn’t make the final cut, journalist Rudy Bouma later tweeted out the memorable interview, commenting, "The Polish historian and political scientist Jerzy Targalski remained completely unruffled during our interview when this happened."

But, the needy kitty did end up making an appearance in the final package next to, but not on top of, its attentive owner.
