The Grammy Award-winning singer, 52, was taken into custody in Chicago on a 13-count indictment.

R. Kelly was arrested in Chicago on federal child pornography charges on Thursday.

The Grammy Award-winning singer, 52, was taken into custody on a 13-count indictment, which includes enticement of a minor and obstruction of justice, U.S. attorney spokesman Joseph Fitzpatrick told The Associated Press.

Prosecutors in Brooklyn are also expected to roll out federal sex trafficking charges for Kelly on Friday in a separate indictment, the New York Times reported. He is expected to eventually be brought to New York to appear in court as well.

Kelly, whose legal name is Robert S. Kelly, is set to be arraigned on Friday in Chicago, according to reports.

In January, the star came under fire after a damning docu-series, “Surviving R. Kelly,” premiered on Lifetime TV and accused the singer of repeatedly having sex with underage women and being physically and emotionally abusive to young women and girls.

At the time of Thursday's arrest, Kelly, who was reportedly walking his dog, was still out on $1 million bail after being charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse charges, involving four women, three of whom were minors at the time of the alleged crimes, in February.

He has pleaded not guilty in connection with the case.

In May, 11 counts were added to Kelly’s indictment in Chicago.

Abuse allegations have followed the star for nearly two decades.

Kelly was found not guilty on child pornography charges in 2008 after authorities claimed the star had sex with a minor and filmed it. Kelly and his attorney have repeatedly denied all allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse.
