Ryan O'Neal 'Panicked' When He Learned of Farrah Fawcett's Cancer Diagnosis

Farrah Fawcett is being honored in a new ABC documentary.
It's been nearly 10 years since Farrah Fawcett died.
The blonde beauty became a pop culture icon thanks to "Charlie's Angels," and years later, her sizzling red swimsuit poster, shot just after she was cast in the show, is one of the best-selling ever.
Now the Hollywood star is being honored in the ABC documentary "This Is Farrah Fawcett," airing Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
The show looks at the highs and lows of Fawcett's life, including her relationship with Ryan O'Neal, who recounts the shock of learning of Fawcett's cancer diagnosis.
"I panicked," he said. "I just knew one thing: that Farrah Fawcett was hard to kill."
Their romance last many years, but they never married.
The documentary includes never-before-seen footage of Fawcett's painful treatments as she fought the illness that eventually took her life.
