In Boston, more than 700 people participated in a semi-naked "Speedo Run" that took place in 27-degree weather.

The event has been going on since 2000. In its 18 years, more than $2 million has been raised for local children in need.

SantaCon in New York City saw thousands hit midtown Manhattan for the bar crawl.

Spirits were light as some Santas also donated toys. "Make sure if you're giving out toys, you give out batteries for the kids. All the toys, but we need batteries," said one Santa.

Participants also made monetary donations to organizations like City Harvest and Clowns Without Borders.

In Madrid, Spain, a sea of red flooded the streets as thousands of runners took part in a charity race whose proceeds go to the INTHEOS Foundation, an organization that helps kids with cancer.
