Every week, the Mena High School choir eats breakfast at the Skyline Cafe before serenading customers at the tiny Arkansas diner.
They do it to raise money for their biannual trip to perform in Branson, Missouri.
However, it was the last-minute song choice that got every single person there out of their seats on Saturday.
A waitress working there caught the special moment on camera.
“That's the first time we've gotten them to like, all stand up in a cafe," said senior Mackenzie McAllister. "Yeah, that's the first time we sang 'The Star Spangled Banner' in the cafe. So one man started to stand up and he put his hand over his heart and then everybody else followed.”
Right now, the students are working to reach their $5,000 goal for all choir members by Feb. 15.
“Football is the big thing here. It's just cool to see people taking time to think about us,” McAllister added.
This tiny moment in the spotlight will help these seniors end their high school years on a high note.
