Surfing Dogs from Around the World Vie to Be Crowned Coolest Canine of All
The 10th Annual Surf City Surf Dog competition was held in Huntington Beach, Calif. on Saturday.
"Hang ten, man!"
Or should we say, "hang twenty, dawg?"
Saturday was surf time for a bunch of very cool pooches in California, where dogs from around the world competed to in Huntington Beach's Surf City Surf Dog competition.
The 10th annual competition included various categories catering to a range of dog surfing styles, including solo surfing, two dog, and human-dog events, per the LA Times.
The weekend long festivities also gave prospective dog parents the opportunity to adopt homeless animals and social events where the dogs could trade surf stories.
As footage and photos show, not every surfing dog is so keen on catching waves.
Some canines clawed for dear life, while others sailed smoothly to shore.
All the dogs, however, were fit with special life vests to ensure even those not having the best of times didn't have the worst of times.
Over the last ten years, more than 500 dogs hailing from the UK, Australia, Canada, Brazil and all corners of the United States have participated in the unique event.
