A neighborhood spat devolved into a full-blown SWAT team crisis in Utah on Sunday.

Video shows a Millcreek man, later identified by police as 61-year-old Richard Lindem, stopping two brothers riding dirt bikes in the neighborhood. He appears to slap one of the boys' helmets, then talks to the other and seems to slap his helmet too.

The kids' angry father, Chris Ollerton, then showed up, at which point cops say Lindem pulled a gun and eventually fired three shots at Ollerton. He sent his kids home.

"[They were] absolutely terrified," Ollerton told Inside Edition. "... Of the three [bullets], there was one that I literally felt zip past my head."

Lindem then ended barricaded himself inside his home, prompting officers to call in a SWAT team to extract him.

Nerves were on edge — at one point a shot rang out from inside the home. But Lindem ultimately was taken into custody later that night.

Ollerton said that Lindem was upset about the noise his kids' bikes make.

"I hope he woke up the next morning and was like, 'Holy cow, I can't believe what I did to those little boys,'" Ollerton said.

Lindem is charged with misdemeanor charge of reckless endangerment, as well as multiple felony charges of child abuse, aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm. He has not yet entered a plea.
