Woman Seen Sleeping in Road on Police Dashcam Video in Texas
Her car was found nearby.
Texas police dashcam footage appears to show the moment a woman was found sleeping in the road.
The Fulshear Police Department released the tape that shows one of their officers, Sgt. Charlie Scott, rushing to the aid of the woman as she lay motionless in the road west of Houston Saturday.
"The (suspected) intoxicated woman decided to take a nap in the middle of FM 1093 after possibly running off the road and getting her car stuck in a ditch about 200 yards from where she 'bedded down' for the night," police wrote in a statement posted to Facebook.
In the video, you see the car in front of Sgt. Scott's cruiser swerve to avoid an object in the road. That object, he soon realized, was a person, and he quickly ran out to help.
The woman was able to sit up, but then stumbled to her feet before she was arrested for public intoxication.
"However, this unfortunate mistake could have ended tragically and the ride could have been to the morgue," police warned.
Police confirmed to InsideEdition.com the woman's name is Jeanette Murillow. She was released on bond Sunday from the Fort Bend County Jail.
