Meet the Woman Using Female Viagra to Spice Up Her Relationship: 'I Felt that Flutter Again'

Every night before Amanda Parrish and her husband Ben go to bed, she pops a little pink pill.

She is taking the revolutionary new pill for women called Addyi, the “Female Viagra.”

Amanda is taking it to rekindle the romantic sparks that she used to have with her husband of eight years.

“We were sort of like teenagers in heat,” she told INSIDE EDITION.

A few years back, without much warning, Amanda’s sexual appetite flamed out. She says it spiraled from a 10 to a zero.

“If it was up to me, I never would have had sex,” she said.

Ben said: “I was taking it personally. Was I doing something wrong? Was she having an affair?”

Amanda learned she suffered from Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder which affects 10 percent of women and results in a low sex drive. She was one of 11,000 women who took part in a clinical trial that resulted in Addyi.

The FDA approved the sale of “Female Viagra” three months ago. But it was only this week that the pill became available for sale, by prescription only.

“Female Viagra” is different from Viagra for men. It's more of a mood enhancer that targets brain chemicals to heighten sexual desire.

Now women across America are curious: Does the little pink pill actually work?

For Amanda and Ben, they say the pink pill is a life saver.

“I felt that flutter again and I was flirty and participative,” she said.
