Watch NFL Star J.J. Watt Surprise His Retiring Fourth Grade Teacher With Cake and New Sneakers
He posted the whole surprise on Facebook Live.
Houston Texans superstar J.J. Watt is known for doing things in grand fashion, so when he heard his beloved fourth grade teacher was retiring after 41 years, he wanted to surprise her with cake and gifts.
The defensive end went to his former Wisconsin elementary school with a cake made to look like two textbooks stacked on top of one another that had a sign reading, "School’s Out."
He also surprised her with new sneakers, a trip to Houston over Mother’s Day weekend and tickets to his celebrity Charity Classic softball game.
Watt broadcasted the surprise on Facebook Live Monday, a day Judy Keefe, as well as her shocked students, won't soon forget.
She was surprised to see her former student and the kids in class rejoiced as he came into the room.
Watt said Mrs. Keefe has been an inspiration for him since he was in her class because she told him he could fulfill his dream of one day playing football for the Wisconsin Badgers at University of Wisconsin-Madison, which he later achieved.
He remembered the impact she had on him and she vividly remembered him from his days as a young student.
“Look where he is now," she told the class. "You can do whatever you want to do."
The 28-year-old also helped cut cake and serve it to students.
