Jennifer Erin Talbot, 43, was stopped Wednesday morning at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila as she attempted to go through security to catch her flight to the U.S., according to CNN Philippines.
"[The] infant was hidden in the oversized belt bag and [she] did not declare nor present to the immigration inspector during departure formalities," the country's Bureau of Immigration told the outlet in a statement.
Talbot initially told officials that she was the young child's aunt, but when asked for paperwork that could prove it, she could not produce any, CNN Philippines reported.
Talbot was ultimately heading to Columbus, Ohio, NBC News reported. It is expected that she will face child trafficking charges, according to the outlet.
