The Cloud Macchiato is made with a special cloud powder that contains egg whites and caramel drizzle that contains milk.

Many Ariana Grande fans are saying “thank u, next” to her new Starbucks drink after she falsely claimed it was vegan.

Grande tweeted photos of herself holding the new Cloud Macchiato, and the tweet included the hashtag #starbucksambassador. The drink is made with espresso, vanilla-flavored syrup, foam and caramel. It also contains milk, but Grande encouraged fans to try the soy version, seemingly because of her 2013 vows to follow a vegan diet.

However, the cloud powder that makes the drink unique contains egg whites. The caramel topping is also made with milk products.

“You literally cannot make it vegan,” a Starbucks barista said on Twitter. “The key ingredient in cloud powder is egg whites to make it more like meringue.”

In fact, a Cloud Macchiato without the cloud powder and caramel is just a plain macchiato.

Starbucks has also publicly commented that there is no vegan option for the Cloud Macchiato.

Grande and her representatives have not yet commented.
