Diana Alejandra Keel, 38, was last seen by her husband, Lynn Keel, on March 8, he told the Nash County Sheriff's Office.

A body believed to be a missing North Carolina nurse has been found, according to authorities.

Diana Alejandra Keel, 38, was last seen by her husband, Lynn Keel, on March 8, he told the Nash County Sheriff's Office, they said in a Facebook post. He told deputies that Diana had left the house with acquaintances.

Her daughter, who is at college, reported her missing.

According to Diana's employer, "she had not reported to work in the last few days," officials wrote on Facebook.

Officials will not positively identify the body until an autopsy is complete. The body was found by a state Department of Transportation worker around noon Tuesday.

Lynn is a person of interest, authorities say, but no arrests have been made. He was brought in to ID the body and questioned by investigators overnight, but later released.

Nash County Sheriff Keith Stone told WTVD that there had been some sort of domestic issue between Lynn and Diana about a year ago.

"There had been concerns between the husband at one time and Mrs. Keel but there has been nothing lately that has been reported on that," Stone said.

Esperanza Prada, Diana's mother, told the station before the body was found that she was scared for her daughter.

"I am afraid for my daughter," Prada said. "I want my daughter to appear."
