Bystanders and Police Rescue Couple Inside Car Teetering Over Ditch
Police and bystanders in China helped rescue a couple from a car dangling over a steep embankment.
A couple was plucked from a teetering car by police and bystanders who stopped to help.
The white sedan had skidded off a road in China, crashing through a guardrail and leaving the back end hanging off a ledge.
People rushed to help, with some putting their weight on the car's hood to keep the vehicle from plunging into a ditch below.
"I was repairing tires there. I immediately ran to the site. A motorcyclist over there also came to hold down [the car]," Zhang Zurun told Reuters news agency.
Police arrived and hitched a tow rope to the vehicle and pulled it to safety.
