Fashion Blogger Kyrzayda Rodriguez Dies After Battle With Cancer: 'Heaven Has Gained an Angel'

Fashion blogger Kyrzayda Rodriguez died Sunday after a battle with cancer. She was 40. 

"You were someone who inspired so many people across the world," read a statement posted to Rodriguez's Instagram account. "Not only were you an icon, you were an amazing daughter, mother and friend. 

"Our hearts are broken to see you go. But we know you are no longer in pain and can now rest. Heaven has gained an Angel!"

Rodriguez bravely documented her fight with the disease after first being diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer a year ago, writing candidly about losing her hair. Though her mane was once one of her favorite features, she leaned into her bald head, embracing herself and encouraging others to love their bodies as they are. 

"I refuse to give up just because I’m sick," she wrote on Instagram in July. 

Fans posted touching tributes to the blogger on her Instagram. 

"Rest Easy," wrote one. 

"Thank you so much for your beautiful light! May God be your comfort and peace," added another.
