Italian Authorities Recover $34M in Stolen Art After Heist Was Caught on Camera

Authorities in Italy were able to recover masterpieces by Renoir, Cézanne and Matisse that were taken from a private museum near the northern city of Parma in March. The Carabinieri’s art recovery squad said in a statement that the paintings were discovered during searches ordered by prosecutors, but no further details were given. The three recovered paintings are “Fish” by Auguste Renoir, “Still Life with Cherries” by Paul Cézanne, and “Odalisque on the Terrace” by Henri Matisse.
