Woman Says She Didn't Truly Find Herself Until She Lost Her Hand

Marissa Camacho's calm demeanor and sense of humor helped her through losing her hand. In 2025, after she'd just moved to Hawaii, she and her boyfriend were in a motorcycle crash. The way she fell off the bike led to a compound humerus fracture that severed a vein. After several attempts to save her hand, doctors made the difficult decision to amputate.
