California Artist Brightens Streets Shuttered by Coronavirus Pandemic

As Ruben Rojas drove past a boarded-up bar in his Santa Monica neighborhood, he knew he had to do something. With businesses shuttered amid the coronavirus pandemic, Rojas is trying to bring a little bit of color and hope to his community. With the owner's permission, he painted a brightly-colored mural that reads "You can't quarantine love." Rojas, who runs the nonprofit Beautify Earth, has painted three murals over the past two and a half weeks and is helping others do the same.
