Flames Surround Deputy’s Car in Forest Fire
Emotions ran high when a deputy in Washington state drove through a forest fire. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office says this was like “Driving Through Hell on Earth.” Deputies responded to what’s being called the Oregon Road Fire, which started burning in North Spokane County on August 18th. The fast-moving flames made speedy evacuations imperative. Officials estimate the Oregon Road Fire burned about 10,817 acres of land, destroyed around 120 homes, and took one life.
