How Can You Reduce Your Risk of Developing Breast Cancer?
In the U.S., one in eight women will develop breast cancer, and each year, about 42,000 women die from it. While white women are more likely to get breast cancer, Black women have a 41% higher death rate. The reasons for these disparities include being statistically more likely to have diabetes, heart disease and obesity. These are all risk factors for breast cancer. To reduce your risk of breast cancer, all women should do regular self breast exams, limit alcohol to no more than one drink a day and exercise at least 30 minutes daily. Dr. Holly Phillips explains.
