Lovejoy Boteler Recounts Kidnapping by Escapee Albert Lepard in Mississippi

“I don't know how many people were kidnapped in 1968, but I was one of them,” Lovejoy Boteler told Inside Edition Digital. Two escaped convicts from Mississippi’s Parchman penitentiary, Albert Lepard and John Parker, accosted Boteler one afternoon while he was working in a field. “I thought I would die,” Boteler admitted. He recalled the incident in his book, “Crooked Snake: The Life and Crimes of Albert Lepard.”
