Man Attempting to Avoid Mental Health Facility Stabs Florida Officer in the Neck

A Florida sheriff’s deputy tries to de-escalate a showdown with a young man he’s been chasing, when suddenly it all goes horribly wrong. Authorities say that deputies were trying to help get a 21-year-old to a facility for a mental health evaluation when the young man fled into the woods, but one deputy caught up with him and tried to calm him down. He tries to handcuff the young man, who pulls out a knife and stabs the deputy in the neck before taking off again.
