    ‘Mayan Bible’ Known as the Popol Vuh Is Retold by Mexican-American Professor

    The Popol Vuh -- a centuries-old text sometimes known as the “Mayan Bible” -- is getting a fresh treatment. Ilan Stavans, a professor at Amherst College, recently wrote “Popol Vuh: A Retelling.” “This is a book about how the universe was created,” Stavans told Inside Edition Digital. “It's a lesson of survival, it's the story of how people managed to face all sorts of the challenges, and still remain together, and fight for their endurance in spite of everything.”
