New York City Mayor Wants Homeless Encampments Removed Within Next 2 Weeks
New York City officials are removing homeless encampments from city streets. Mayor Eric Adams told The New York Times he plans an initiative that will remove makeshift shelters, but gave few additional details on his plan. Mayor Adams has not said where the people removed from the encampments will go, but he acknowledges individuals cannot be forced to go into homeless shelters. The mayor says these moves will begin within the next two weeks.
