Ohio Man Lucky to Be Alive After Eating Poisonous Mushrooms From Parents’ Yard

Bill Hickman emotionally remembers the day eating mushrooms almost killed him. His nightmare started when he spotted a patch of mushrooms growing in his parents’ yard in Ohio. Hickman says he used a smartphone app that identified the mushrooms as safe to eat. Hours after eating the mushrooms for dinner, Hickman suffered excruciating abdominal pains. He was rushed to the hospital where he was diagnosed with amatoxin poisoning. Inside Edition’s Jim Moret has more.
