Police Shooting of 17-Year-Old Sparks Protests in Paris

The police killing of a 17-year-old boy has sparked protests all over Paris. Nanterre, a suburb about eight miles from the French capital, was the center of tensions. Peaceful protests morphed into rioting as several vehicles and buildings were set on fire. Fireworks were set off near a police station and officers in riot gear were deployed to quell the violence. More than 30 people were reportedly arrested.
