Quartet in Spain Plays for Audience of Plants to Honor Coronavirus Workers

A string quartet in Barcelona, Spain played for the world’s least responsive audience; everyone in attendance at the opera house was a plant. The live-streamed concert was organized by a conceptual artist named Eugenio Ampudia. Since live events with actual human audience members aren’t happening any time soon, this was the next best thing. The plants— all 2,292 of them— will be donated to healthcare workers at a local hospital.
