Red-Tailed Hawk Recovering From Gunshot Wound at Wildlife Rehab in California

This hawk is on the mend after being shot with a pellet gun. It’s one of three animals recovering at a rescue center in California, where they tell KCBS they are getting at least two gunshot patients a month. This red-tailed hawk was found in a backyard in Pasadena. It was brought to a local vet center for initial care, but was transferred to the Ojai Raptor Center for surgery and rehab.
