Trapped Polish Scientists Dig Themselves Out of Man-Size Snowdrifts

Three researchers in Poland were literally snowed in this week. Six-foot snowdrifts almost completely blocked the door of their meteorological research station. The weathermen had to dig themselves out by hand. The winter wonderland happened in Poland's Tatra Mountains, on the border with Slovakia. Elsewhere in the eastern European nation, winds with speeds exceeding 50 miles per hour battered the Baltic coast.
