UPenn Scientist Dr. Drew Weissman Calls His Parents After Winning Nobel Prize

Dr. Drew Weissman and his University of Pennsylvania colleague, Dr. Katalin Kariko, won the prestigious Nobel Prize in medicine for their groundbreaking work that led to the creation of COVID-19 vaccines. When Dr. Weissman found out he won a Nobel Prize, he immediately called his parents. "Congratulations, sweetheart. You’re the product of our hearts, Drew," his mother told him. "I always knew that they were proud but it was great to hear, says Dr. Weissman.
