Imagine for a moment that suddenly, we all stopped shopping. Writer J.B. MacKinnon explored that idea in his recent book, “The Day the World Stops Shopping.” He told Inside Edition Digital that we would immediately notice two big effects: “an immediate extraordinary decline in the economy of the planet,” and “a great awakening of the natural world.” But until we change the way we consume, MacKinnon continued, “Every dollar we spend in the economy is contributing to climate change.”
