Witness Helps Capture Suspect in Fatal Shooting of New Mexico Cop

Cops say a witness brought a killing spree to a halt. It started in South Carolina with the slaying of a paramedic. Cops say Jaremy Smith took her car and drove to New Mexico, where he got a flat tire. That's when a state police officer got out of his patrol car to lend a hand. Smith allegedly opened fire, killing the cop. The witness says she recognized the wanted fugitive when he bought the cigarettes at the gas station where she works.
