Now, one restaurant in his native country is paying homage to the No. 10 with a traditional dish in his honor and likeness by crafting a milanesa, a breaded schnitzel, but this time shaped and decorated to resemble the face of the country's soccer star. Chef Damian Zanotti of Buenos Aires restaurant El Antojo used a photograph of Messi as a reference while shaping the meat, applying egg wash and coating it with breadcrumbs. The restaurant called the creation "La Milamessi.
