Meet the Dog From 'SNL' Skit That Honored Conan From ISIS Raid
Inside Edition tracked down the 3-year-old dog who played Conan in Upstate New York.
A dog playing the Belgian Malinois Conan who participated in the recent raid on the fallen ISIS leader stole the show on “Saturday Night Live” over the weekend and has barked his way to Inside Edition.
Inside Edition tracked down the 3-year-old dog who played Conan in Upstate New York. His name is Ivan.
His owner says the dog has an agent and that she got a call Friday afternoon asking if they could get to the city that day for rehearsals. She says she was "super excited" to get the call.
In the skit, Cecily Strong played Ivan’s canine translator. But Ivan’s real handler is Mary Cummings, who says before Ivan took his star turn he had to impress in rehearsals.
Ivan eventually made the cut.
“I always think Ivan steals the show,” she said. "I think he did really well. He had a long day on set but I think he did really well."
Ivan seems to be taking his newfound celebrity status in stride and is not letting his fame get to him.
