Meghan Markle's Half-Sister Slams Harry's Family Comments: 'We Were Always There For Her'
Prince Harry said the royals are the family Meghan Markle never had.
Meghan Markle's half-sister is hitting back at comments Prince Harry made about her family during a radio interview this week.
Harry told BBC's Radio 4 that his fiancée had an "amazing" Christmas with his family.
"It's the family I suppose that she's never had,” he added.
But Meghan's half-sister Samantha Grant, who lives in Florida, fired back on Twitter.
Royal expert Victoria Arbiter says the prince was simply reacting to remarks Markle’s relatives have made about her.
“Meghan's family has been a little tricky since the couple started dating," she told Inside Edition. "She's had half siblings come out and speak about her not always favorably and I think Harry was standing up for her and letting people know he's aware of how she's been treated."
Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, and father, Tom Markle, divorced in 1987 when she was 5. Markle also has a half-brother, Thomas Markle Grant Jr.
But the former Suits actress has fond memories of her family holidays. In the U.K. edition of Elle magazine, she spoke about Christmas growing up in a mixed race family. She says her father bought two Barbie sets to create a special doll family to put under the tree.
She said she had "a black mom doll, a white dad doll, and a child in each color. My dad had taken the sets apart and customized my family."
Markle’s 52-year-old half-sister says she's writing a tell-all book about the actress and her fractured family.
