Meghan Markle's estranged sister tells Inside Edition their dad, Thomas Markle, is deeply in debt, and she claims the "Suits" star for did not help him out.
"He was very clear with her about the fact that he needed some help and by his report, twice, she flatly refused," Samantha Grant claimed.
Grant was not invited to the royal wedding. She says her father has asked her for financial help to pay for wedding expenses.
"I live on a lot less than she does and he really had to chew on his pride to call me and ask me for help," she claimed.
She says she never felt much of a rivalry with her sister.
"We have never been jealous of Meg," she said. "We have been supportive and excited. Nobody is milking her for money; you help your father in return for everything he has done for you. It’s that simple."
Thomas Markle was recently spotted during a pit stop at a 7-Eleven while making his way to the royal wedding.
He purchased Gas-X, a can of Heineken and a bottle of Yoo-Hoo. He took halting steps as he returned to his beat-up car and headed to a budget $70 a night motel.
It was his last stop before crossing the border in San Ysidro, near San Diego.
Markle's journey to London began in Rosarito, Mexico, where he lives a reclusive life. He crossed the border at Tijuana before spending the night in San Diego.
Grant says he still doesn't have a plane ticket to London.
The future royal's mother, Doria Ragland, arrived in London this week to help with last-minute wedding preparations.
Meghan Markle's parents divorced when she was 6 years old. Samantha is Thomas' daughter from his first marriage.
Grant says it will be "interesting" for her father and his ex-wife, Meghan Markle’s mother, to be at the same place for the first time in a while.
“Hopefully they sit them about five or six people apart,” she said. “Maybe it will all work out."
