Met Gala 2018: 2 Chainz Proposes to Longtime Partner on Red Carpet
The "Birthday Song" rapper and Kesha Ward have three children together.
Amid the glitz and the glamour of the Met Gala, one diamond stood out — the one 2 Chainz pulled out for his date.
The "Birthday Song" rapper, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, fell to one knee and proposed to his longtime partner Kesha Ward as they walked up the stairs into Anna Wintour’s annual fashion soiree.
Unsurprisingly, she said yes.
“It’s crazy — he just gave me this,” Ward told reporters moments after the engagement. “So happy, I love it!”
2 Chainz and Ward already have three children together, and some say they have been married since 2013, while others believe they never formally tied the knot after he first proposed five years ago.
When asked why he wanted to propose again on that particular night, 2 Chainz said it was a spur of the moment decision.
But he wasn’t the only big name who got engaged on the red carpet of the Met Gala — Donald Trump proposed to Melania at the same affair in 2004, years before they became the president and first lady.
