Taylor Swift Serenades Couple Who Got Engaged Thanks to Her Song

Playing Taylor Swift Sings to Couple in Sweet Engagement Party Surprise

Taylor Swift is known for singing about fairy tales, but she seemed even more moved when realizing she was part of another couple’s “love story.”

The pop star serenaded a Los Angeles couple at their engagement party with an acoustic version of “King of My Heart” after she discovered her song was playing in the background when one of them made the decision to propose.

“It was the song I was listening to in the car when I decided to propose,” 30-year-old Alexander Goldschmidt told InsideEdition.com. “It feels like my story. I was content not dating, not searching for love and just being happy with myself. The moment Ross came into my life it was like I found my second half. He is the one that I had been waiting for – the king of my heart, body and soul.”

He explained he had emailed Swift after the big decision, letting her know that her song pushed him over the fence when he was considering his future with his boyfriend of three years, Ross Girard.

Shortly after, Swift’s publicist responded that she would be interested in being a part of the proposal.

“Performing to us was her idea,” Goldschmidt said.

Goldschmidt ended up proposing to Girard after a hike up to Wisdom Tree, where the pair had gone on their second date.

The newly-engaged couple then met friends at a nearby bar after to celebrate, and as Goldschmidt made a toast, he introduced a friend who made it all happen.

“There is one secret that I didn’t trust any of you with. And there was a person who’s not here who sort of played a part in all this,” Goldschmidt said in a video on Instagram, as Swift walked into the bar and dedicated her song to the happy couple.

He explained that no one in the audience had known about Swift’s guest appearance, but it made for a memorable part of an all-round exciting day.

“Jaws were on the floor, people were crying,” he said. “No one knew how to deal.”
