Charlie Sheen is looking for a fresh start.
The actor, whose battle with drugs and alcohol has played out very publicly over the past decade, told Inside Edition he recently celebrated an important milestone: 14 months sober.
"I just woke up one day and said, 'Yeah, it's time. It's time,'" he said. "I got tired of apologizing for things I couldn't remember doing."
As part of his fresh start, Sheen is trying out something new — directing a music video for up-and-coming country music star Tim Montana.
"He is the coolest," Montana told Inside Edition.
Since giving up drugs, Sheen says his life has markedly improved.
"Every relationship in my life is better and I'm with my kids full time," he said. "When I say I'm gonna be somewhere, I'm there early. These days I leave every situation better than how I found it."
