For the other 364 days of the year, the Iowa Wolves play basketball, but this Christmas, they’re playing Santa Claus for three Des Moines families.
Eight kids were gifted $500 shopping sprees to Scheels Sporting Goods, VIP tickets to a Wolves basketball game, Hy-Vee gift cards and various other Christmas presents, thanks to the NBA stars who teamed up with Re/Max for the special day.
“To put a smile on these kids' faces, it means a lot,” said Wolves forward Hakim Warrick.
Warrick and his teammates even took the kids shopping themselves to make the day even more magical.
“I just know how magical of a time this was,” Warrick said. “Knowing I was believing in Christmas and Santa Claus and all that. It was a fun time of the year."
