Jeff Bezos, Wife MacKenzie Settle Billion-Dollar Divorce

Jeff Bezos keeps 75 percent of the couple's Amazon stock, plus voting control.

Jeff Bezos is officially a single man as he and his ex-wife, MacKenzie, finalized their divorce Thursday.

Bezos will keep 75 percent of the couple's Amazon stock, plus voting control. He will remain the world’s wealthiest person. He also gets to take her interests in The Washington Post and the Blue Origin aerospace company.

MacKenzie made out well, too, getting $35.6 billion in Amazon stock, making her the fourth-richest woman in the world.

Bezos and his ex expressed respect for each other on social media.

“I’m grateful for her support and for her kindness in this process and am very much looking forward to our new relationship as friends and co-parents," Bezos wrote.

“Happy to be giving him all of my interests in the Washington Post, Blue Origin, and 75% of our Amazon stock plus voting control of my shares to support his continued contributions with the teams of these incredible companies," she tweeted.

"Excited about my own plans. Grateful for the past as I look forward to what comes next.”

Bezos has been in the headlines over his love affair with former TV personality Lauren Sanchez. It's unclear where that relationship now stands.
