In July 2003, New Yorkers were left in shock and disbelief when a man smuggled a gun inside and assassinated rising Brooklyn councilman James E Davis. Davis, a man who spent most of his life advocating against gun violence, was just 41 years old when he was killed. His assassin’s motives are still questioned today.
