    In July 2003, New Yorkers were left in shock and disbelief when a man smuggled a gun inside and assassinated rising Brooklyn councilman James E Davis. Davis, a man who spent most of his life advocating against gun violence, was just 41 years old when he was killed. His assassin’s motives are still questioned today. In this "New York Gritty" episode, host Sal Bono speaks to Davis' brother, a colleague and the man who took out the assassin, who say the councilman was taken from the public way too soon.
