Indigenous groups say they're watching sacred land disappear as the US moves forward with constructing a wall along the border with Mexico. Norma Meza Calles, a tribal leader, holds vigils for Kuuchamaa Mountain, which she says gives her and the people of the Kumeyaay tribe strength to live in a difficult world. Construction on the border wall has been ramped up since the beginning of 2026.
