Man Fled To Italy After Allegedly Killing Wife, Her Parents Want Him Extradited

A man charged with killing his wife fled to Italy earlier this year, authorities said. Italian officials have blocked his extradition to Texas to stand trial and are seeking assurances the man will not receive the death penalty, according to the man’s defense attorney. The parents of Christa Gilley are speaking out and appealing to an Italian judge to extradite their son-in-law, Lee Gilley, who is accused of strangling Christa in their home two years ago. She was eight weeks pregnant with their third child. He has pleaded not guilty.
