College Students Fall Into Lake After Pier Collapses

A pier packed with college students collapsed in Wisconsin. It happened on Lake Mendota at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Between 60 to 80 people stood shoulder to shoulder partying on the pier when it collapsed. Dozens of students swam to shore while others were rescued by boat. The pier is a temporary structure used during the summer to load and unload people from small boats and is not meant to hold all those people.
