Autistic 16-Year-Old Repairs American Flags and Gives Them to Businesses

Matthew Amatulli likes to sew, but he isn’t hemming pants or sewing quilts. He’s making sure Old Glory flies in perfect condition. The 16-year-old, who is autistic, was taught to sew by his grandmother when he was around 7. His mother, Angela, says Matthew’s love for flags started around 3, and now he dedicates his sewing skills to repairing torn or tattered American flags. Matthew’s flags are flying all around West Palm Beach, Florida.
